Wayve Announces $85M Employee Tender Offer

  • Following our Series D that valued Wayve at $8.6 billion, we’re launching an employee tender offer
  • This is the second time Wayve has done this, reflecting our commitment to retain and reward the very best talent in our industry as we shift from R&D to commercialization
  • Ahead of this next phase of growth, we’re also expanding our U.S. headquarters in Sunnyvale to deepen our presence across North America

On the heels of closing our Series D, which valued Wayve at $8.6 billion, we’re launching an $85 million employee tender to give our current team the opportunity to sell a portion of their vested equity. This is the second time in Wayve’s history that we’ve done this.

Wayve would not exist without the people who, every single day, choose to put their time and talent into solving one of the hardest problems in AI: embodied intelligence. This tender, led by existing and new investors, is one way of ensuring we can retain the best of the best in our industry.

Building embodied AI is not like building regular software. It demands a rare combination of talent across AI and in our case, automotive, from robotics and machine learning researchers to vehicle engineering and compliance experts. It also requires the kind of long-term thinking that only comes when people feel invested in the outcome. Retaining and attracting that unique blend of talent requires us to consistently and creatively reward our team.

Together, this team has pioneered AV2.0 (staying committed even when this approach was far from consensus), become the first AV developer to drive zero-shot in more than 500 cities across North America, Europe, Japan, and forged partnerships with some of the world’s leading automakers and technology companies, including Nissan, Uber, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and Stellantis

Wayve is made up of 1,200 people today — more than double where we were just a year ago — across offices in 6 countries on 3 continents. That growth reflects the scale of what we’re attempting and what we need to deliver in the coming years as we shift from R&D to commercialization, deploying our technology in robotaxis starting this year and consumer vehicles the following.

We’re not stopping here. The U.S. will be a critical market for us in this next phase. It’s one of the largest auto markets globally, home to incredible AI talent, and where several of our key partners are based. To support these efforts, we’re expanding our U.S. headquarters in Sunnyvale as we continue to scale our test fleet, grow our team, and deepen our presence across North America. We’re hiring there and around the world to drive this future. Join us.
