Wayve and Mercedes-Benz Partner to Bring the Wayve AI Driver to Future Mercedes-Benz Vehicles
- Global strategic partnership will integrate the Wayve AI Driver in future Mercedes-Benz vehicles starting in the next two years, enabling advanced urban and highway point-to-point driving assistance
- Agreement builds on multi-year collaboration between the two teams and Mercedes-Benz’s strategic investment in Wayve earlier this year

[LONDON] – September 22, 2026 — Wayve, the global leader in embodied AI, and Mercedes-Benz, the leading luxury car brand, have signed a definitive production agreement to integrate the Wayve AI Driver into future Mercedes-Benz vehicles, enabling advanced urban point-to-point driving assistance for customers starting in the next two years. This strategic partnership reflects both companies’ shared ambition to bring intelligent and scalable driving assistance technology to markets worldwide.
The agreement follows Mercedes-Benz’s strategic investment in Wayve’s Series D funding round earlier this year and builds on a multi-year technical partnership between the two organizations. Together, the teams have proved the potential of the Wayve AI Driver for application in future Mercedes-Benz vehicles, setting the foundation for mass production development.
“This partnership marks the world’s first integration of the Wayve AI Driver in the premium segment, expanding the availability of advanced urban and highway point-to-point driving assistance. Together with Wayve, we are laying the foundation to roll out this technology worldwide and deliver an outstanding driving experience to a broader range of customers,” said Jörg Burzer, Chief Technology Officer, Mercedes-Benz.
“We’re incredibly excited to be partnering with Mercedes-Benz, an iconic company with a strong reputation for automotive innovation and engineering excellence,” said Alex Kendall, Co-founder and CEO of Wayve. “The pace and depth of our development work together reflect a deep technical alignment between our teams, integrating Wayve’s embodied intelligence with Mercedes-Benz’s vehicle engineering and safety expertise. We couldn’t be prouder to build the future of autonomous driving together.”
Through Wayve’s pioneering AV2.0 approach, the Wayve AI Driver learns to drive like a human would, reasoning and adapting to its surroundings without HD maps. This architecture, trained on NVIDIA AI Infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure, enables autonomy that generalizes to new cities and driving environments without geofences or city-specific retraining. The same underlying AI Driver is designed to scale across the autonomy spectrum, from advanced driver assistance to fully driverless products, offering automakers a single, evolving solution for their vehicle line-up, from consumer cars to robotaxis.
